Egan Bernal (Team INEOS) stormed to victory in an exciting 2019 edition of Gran Piemonte with a strong late surge which none of his rivals could respond to.
A dominant display of power from Team INEOS saw Bernal take the win at the end of the 183km Italian race, aided by his compatriot and young teammate Ivan Sosa in the final phase, with Sosa able to cross the line in second place, six seconds behind the Tour de France champion.
Nans Peters (AG2R La Mondiale) was just beaten to the line by Sosa, with Emanual Buchmann (BORA - hansgrohe) and Dan Martin (UAE Team Emirates) just behind to complete the top five.
Below are the Velon data outputs from the race:
Solo victory for @EganBernal! His @TeamINEOS teammates kept the pace extremely high before he put in his attack.
