Bauke Mollema (Trek-Segafredo) secured his first Monument with one of the biggest wins of his career in a superb edition of Il Lombardia on Saturday.
The experienced Dutchman launched an attack with 18km to go on the Civiglio - the penultimate climb of the day - going solo and holding off some big names in a frantic late chase.
Mollema rode brilliantly in a thrilling finale, ultimately finishing 16 seconds ahead of Alejandro Valverde (Movistar Team) and Egan Bernal (Team INEOS), who were second and third respectively.
