Friday’s action at the Vuelta a España 2019 saw Alejandro Valverde (Movistar Team) take the win on Stage 7 as he got the better of Primož Roglič (Team Jumbo-Visma) at the end of a tough 4km final climb at Mas de la Costa.

Miguel Ángel López (Astana Pro Team) and his compatriot Nairo Quintana (Movistar Team) also featured in a great battle on the final ascent, ultimately finishing third and fourth respectively, six seconds behind Valverde.

After a full week of racing in Spain López heads the GC with a six second advantage from Roglič, with Valverde also in the top three, 16 seconds down on the Colombian in the Red Jersey.
