Cycling Season Review 2019: UAE Tour
The 2019 season's drawn to a close, but there's plenty of action to look back on.
Velon reviews some of the key races of this year's WorldTour season, starting with the UAE Tour. Primož Roglič sealed the GC as he kicked off what was to be a hugely successful season, while some of the world's top riders picked up stage wins.
Here's a recap of some of the most exciting content that came out of this year's UAE Tour.
Stage 1: Michał Kwiatkowski's data
The Team INEOS (at the time, Team Sky) rider's data from the 16km Team Time Trial showed just how hard the riders were working on Al Hudayriat Island, as the Tour got underway.
Stage 2: World-class sprinters Gaviria and Viviani go head to head
Velon was able to show just how much power and speed Deceuninck - Quick-Step rider Elia Viviani and UAE Team Emirates' Fernando Gaviria produced, as the Colombian just out-sprinted his Italian rival for victory.
Stage 4: Caleb Ewan shows off incredible power
Lotto Soudal rider Caleb Ewan ascended a short, steep final climb with an explosive output of pure power to take the victory.
Stage 5: Inside a WorldTour cycle sprint train
Ewan's Lotto Soudal team tried to bring him to the front for a sprint finish the next day, and although things didn't quite work out for the Australian, Velon's on-bike cameras captured an amazing insight into how the team marshalled the final kilometres in preparation for the finish.

Stage 6: Team Jumbo-Visma do a solid team job
Velon went behind the scenes with many of the teams throughout the UAE Tour, and on Stage 6 we were with Team Jumbo-Visma as Roglič solidified his hold on the GC with a stage win.
Behind the scenes with @JumboVismaRoad as they scored a Stage 6 win at @uae_tour. Hear from race leader @rogla and DS Addy Engels on how they've handled the pressure, and how they masterminded a memorable victory on Jebel Jais. Stage 7: Another top-class sprint finish between Sam Bennett and Viviani
The BORA-hansgrohe rider went up against Viviani on the final stage and won, after Viviani had taken a victory on Stage 5. Here, we surf the sprint leadout with Viviani and his team.
Tour of Guangxi: Ackermann wins the final stage - Mas takes the overall
Pascal Ackermann (BORA-hansgrohe) powered to victory in the rain on the final stage of Tour of Guangxi in front of Sebastian Molano (UAE Team Emirates) and Timo Roosen (Team Jumbo-Visma). Enric Mas (Deceuninck - Quick-Step) was well-protected by his teammates all day and the Spaniard had no problems securing the overall victory.
