Breakaway rider Mikel Iturria won stage 11 of the Vuelta a España as Primoz Roglic retained the overall lead.

Iturria (Euskadi-Murias) mounted a late solo escape and held on to beat Jonathan Lastra (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA) into second place and Lawson Craddock (EF Education First Pro Cycling) into third.

Roglic (Team Jumbo-Visma) and the rest of the GC contenders followed in the peloton, meaning the Slovenian remains 1:52 ahead of second-placed Alejandro Valverde (Movistar Team) and 2:11 ahead of third-placed Miguel Angel Lopez (Astana Pro Team) overall.
