Stefan Küng (Groupama-FDJ) proved to be the strongest rider in the second race of The Digital Swiss 5. Filippo Ganna (Team INEOS) took second place, while Michael Matthews (Team Sunweb) finished third.
Right from the start of the race, it was clear that Küng was motivated to put on a show on his virtual Swiss home roads. He took the lead at the beginning and nobody ever managed to get close to him. The biggest fight was between Matthews and Greg Van Avermaet (CCC Team) for the final spot on the podium. The two riders followed each other’s pace for the majority of the race but at the end, Matthews succeeded in outsprinting Van Avermaet.
