Rohan Dennis (Team INEOS) powered to victory in the opening race of The Digital Swiss 5. Nicolas Roche (Team Sunweb) finished second, while James Whelan (EF Pro Cycling) took third place.
Whelan was the first rider to get a gap on the rest on the 27 km mountainous route from Agarn to Leukerbad. However, it didn’t take long before Dennis bridged across and then distanced his Australian countryman. From here on, the INEOS rider had no problems keeping his lead to take the win.
