Pascal Ackermann (BORA - hansgrohe) took a brilliant sprint victory on Stage 2 of the Giro d’Italia 2019 as he beat some seriously talented rivals to the finish line in Fucecchio.
The German sprinter secured his maiden Grand Tour win as he beat the likes of Elia Viviani (Deceuninck-Quick Step), Caleb Ewan (Lotto Soudal) and Fernando Gaviria (UAE Team Emirates) to the line. Arnaud Démare (Groupama-FDJ) completed the top five.
Primož Roglič (Team Jumbo-Visma) retains the Maglia Rosa, with Simon Yates (Mitchelton-SCOTT) and Vincenzo Nibali (Bahrain-Merida) still just behind him in the GC.
