Stefan Küng (Swiss national team) doubled up in The Digital Swiss 5 as he took his second victory by winning Race 4 after a nail-biting fight with Michael Matthews (Team Sunweb) in second place. Ethan Hayter (Team INEOS) finished third.
Earlier this week, Küng won Race 2, which also had Matthews on the podium in third place. Determined to change the outcome this time, Matthews took the lead right from the start and he managed to open up a solid gap on his rivals during the undulating first part of the course.
However, in the final part of the race, Küng clawed his way back and with 1 km to go, the Swiss time trial specialist caught and passed Matthews to take the win.
Results:
1. Stefan Küng (Swiss national team)
2. Michael Matthews (Team Sunweb)
3. Ethan Hayter (Team INEOS)
4. Greg Van Avermaet (CCC Team)
5. Michael Gogl (NTT Pro Cycling)
