Giro d'Italia Stage 21 data: Carapaz seals GC victory as Haga wins ITT

Richard Carapaz (Movistar Team) confirmed overall victory at the 2019 Giro d’Italia in the Stage 21 ITT in Verona on Sunday.

Chad Haga (Team Sunweb) took the stage win in the Italian sunshine to give his team a huge boost at the end of a tough Giro. Lotto Soudal pair Victor Campenaerts and Thomas De Gendt were second and third respectively in the 17km time trial.

Carapaz sent his entire home nation of Edcuador into raptures with his stunning Giro win, with Vincenzo Nibali (Team Bahrain Merida) second in the GC battle and Primoz Roglic (Team Jumbo-Visma) knocking Mikkel Landa (Movistar Team) off third spot on the GC podium on the final day.
